In an effort to help voters participate in their democracy with confidence, Democracy Works will celebrate National Voter Education Week (“NVEW”), a digital campaign to equip communities with all of the information they need to be informed, confident, and prepared voters.
Running this year from October 2-6, NVEW 2023 aims to help communities make their voices heard by helping voters around the country to establish a voter identity and create a habit of voting in every single election.
“Democracy Works is proud to be a long-time participant in National Voter Education Week and a steering member of the NVEW committee,” Brandon Newell, Democracy Works VP of Partnerships and Data, said. “Voter education is at the core of what we do as an organization and is a crucial first step in helping voters cast their ballot.”
National Voter Education Week helps voters bridge the gap between registering to vote and actually casting a ballot. During this week of interactive education, Democracy Works will help voters find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote in person or by mail, and more.
“Though presidential elections get more attention, voters can make an even larger impact on their communities by participating in local elections. Democracy Works provides voter guidance not just for federal and state elections, but also all the way down to county and municipal elections, such as city council and school boards.” Newell added.
Democracy Works has already supported more than 2,000 elections across 45 states this year, with more than 1,000 across every state still to come before the end of 2023.
